Tips for Modeling

So this tutorial is going to be very detailed, so that you really understand every single step!

Today, this is my inspiration:

A cover of russian Vogue with the beautiful Abbey Lee Kershaw on it. I am NOT going to copy the pose, I really use it just as an inspiration! But it's better to have an inspirational pose to make it more realistic.

Preperation: As a non-ss it is hard to find things to cover useless bodyparts, when doing a pose in a scenery. But there are somethings you can use to do that! Like the flags in the small world - suiteshop! Here are examples for use flags (1. Libya, 2. Japan). Today I will use the japanese flag for the tutorial!

This is how we start: you put your medoll in front of a plain background. You can use the flags to cover the background.

The pose: This is going to be an easy pose. Therefore I will just do something with the arms. So, you have to place your other medolls, like this (e.g.):

You have to make shure that  your medoll is bending at the joints and nowhere else. Also, you have to watch the proportions. the upper arm should be a bit thicker then the lower arm. The length is also important! The lower arm shouldn't be longer then the upper one. Then you cover up the bodyparts you don't need.

But wait, if you have a closer look at the ellbows you see, that they are way too pointed, so you have to round them off with extra flags!

Now it's time to cover up the red circles with bigger flags. You will need A LOT of flags :P .

But the medoll is still undressed.Soooo we need to dress her up. I decided to use one of my favorite dresses at the moment, the Pretty in Pink holiday dress.

The problem is, when you put the dress on the doll some parts are hidden, because of the flags we used before! So what to do?

You take the dress and put it as close to your medoll as possible. Then you make it as big as your doll and again put it very very close to your doll. But the computer mouse mustn't touch the doll!! So that you use the dress like a normal item!

Now we just add a few extra items to embellish it a bit and your done!

Thoughts? Opinions? I would be very happy to hear what you think and if it is helpful :)! Superstar posing tutorial is going to come soon!
